Organisational Documentation

Most schools have School Handbooks, Departmental Handbooks and Student Handbooks. Keeping these on the VLE where they are visible only to the appropriate group has a lot going for it. The detail of how to do specific things is often the province of one individual. If they are off it can be difficult to pick up the thread.

Assessment procedures, Performance management documents or how to enter data into the MIS or VLE.  Document management can be handled well in the VLE and permissions can be set so that selected people can edit or view content. It does not have to be a Wiki as such it will work equally well using a Glossary in Moodle for instance.
