Primary and Secondary VLE Approaches
There are a number of approaches to using a VLE in use by UK schools. Most use not one of these styles, but many of them.
They fall in to four main groups
Document store A store of PDFs, PowerPoints, Word documents etc. Students (usually) are refered to a page where they open and save the document they need.
Teacher Centered The materials are organised for the teacher to deploy via a data projector, Usually the students do not have access to computers, so work is done on paper for subsequent marking.
Student Centered Material is accessed by students, who work on it and upload to the VLE, save on the network or email it to the teacher for marking.
Data Gathering . Students have been instructed in a different place and are tested on the VLE. The results are gathered to evaluate progress.
